Menopause care in California, by video
Perimenopause and menopause care in California by video from a Carlsbad practice. $99 first visit, then $49 a month. North County San Diego, Los Angeles, the Bay Area and beyond.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Ashley Alexis, ND,

Golden Leaf Health Center is in Carlsbad, in North County San Diego. California patients are seen by Dr. Ashley Alexis, ND, who founded the practice and focuses on perimenopause and menopause. Visits are by video, so patients in Oceanside and Sacramento get the same $99 first visit and $49-a-month care after it.
Who you’ll see in California
Dr. Alexis is licensed in California as a naturopathic doctor. She trained at Bastyr University San Diego and focuses on perimenopause and menopause. California patients are treated through Golden Leaf Naturopathic, PC, with Dr. Steve Groke, MD, and Mai Tran, PharmD, the practice’s compounding pharmacist advisor, alongside her. The About page introduces each of them.
How a California visit works
- Book at start.goldenleafhc.com and confirm you’ll be in California for the visit.
- Talk. A one-on-one video visit about your symptoms, history, lifestyle and goals.
- Test, if it would change the plan. Your provider decides that at the first visit. If labs are needed, they’re ordered for you with instructions on where to go; many women start without them.
- Treat. If hormone therapy or another treatment is right for you, the prescription goes to a pharmacy that can fill it for you in California. We use FDA-approved bioidentical estradiol and progesterone products and compounded prescriptions where they fit, with the reasons explained. Two to three follow-up visits with a doctor and text check-ins through HIPAA-compliant messaging are part of membership.
You need to be physically in California at the time of each visit. You can join from home, work or a parked car with a signal.

San Diego, Chula Vista and the South Bay
Patients in Mission Valley, La Jolla, Chula Vista, the South Bay and East County can meet by video without the drive or parking. The practice focuses on menopause care.
Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Orange County
Many Los Angeles clinics lead with pellets or long packages. We use adjustable dosing, with follow-ups included. Our earlier guide to menopause specialists in Santa Monica explains what to ask providers on the Westside, in the Valley and in Orange County.
The Bay Area, Sacramento, the Central Valley and the north
From San Francisco and the Peninsula, the East Bay and San Jose, Sacramento, Fresno and Bakersfield to Redding and the far north coast, the care is the same by video. In rural California, you can meet a menopause specialist without the drive.
